Established in 1975 by Willis Spivey, the Spivey Construction Company started out building custom homes in Vero Beach, FL. In 1977, the company relocated to Seneca, SC, where it continued its focus on custom homes in the 1,500 square foot range. By 1981, Spivey Construction had expanded into the commercial market, targeting the remodeling of local area restaurants, and within two years they were the company of choice for several fast food chains throughout the Southeast. The company’s primary focus shifted to this new market until 1989, by which time they had built or renovated over 200 restaurants all along the east coast, and as far inland as Kentucky. However, the fast pace and personal demands of putting crews on the road to meet the 10-12 week schedules required by the chains began to grow less appealing, so Spivey shifted focus once again, returning to the company’s roots in residential and light construction. Willis Spivey, the company’s president, founder, and a 30+ year veteran of the construction industry, has spent all this time diligently gathering together a team that meets his high standards in terms quality and service. This has resulted in Spivey Construction gaining many high-level subcontractors and craftsmen at the tops of their fields. The goal has been to assemble a hassle-free operation for all clients by eliminating the inconsistencies that come with the use of outside subcontractors. The company currently handles millwork, framing, cabinetry, interior trim, siding, stucco and stonework all in-house, areas that are typically shopped out to subcontractors by key competitors. This provides a seamless, efficient workflow throughout the building process. |
